Moura State High School is a school committed to providing access to a quality education for young people in the Dawson Valley. It provides a dynamic approach to education with the focus on maximising opportunities for our students to explore 'what's possible' and then providing them with the skills to reach their goals. The school draws from feeder schools across the Dawson Valley, with students from Moura State School, Theodore State School, Bauhinia State School and Banana State School all represented. This diversity enhances the culture of our school with students from a range of backgrounds contributing to our school identity.
We have developed strong, supportive relationships with our students, parents and the wider Moura community and we value the contributions that these groups make to our school. Our P&C is extremely active and supportive; enhancing many of the student opportunities that are on offer. Through embracing technology, our students can access a wide range of curriculum options in both the middle phase and senior phase of learning, as 'Virtual Schooling' and distance education supplement the school based options to ensure that the subject choices available to our senior students support their career aspirations.
Moura State High School has dedicated staff committed to providing positive learning opportunities to our young people. Our combination of experienced quality teachers and energetic, new teachers provides the ideal learning environment for our students. I personally feel very fortunate to be able to work within this school and wider community and am confident that our students are provided with every opportunity to succeed.
