LEVIES, TEXTBOOK HIRE, EQUIPMENT, IT CHARGES

The Parents & Citizens Association has approved that a Texbook and Equipment Hire Scheme operate at Moura High. Participation in the scheme will generally minimise parental costs. As the cost of things like text books can be spread across several years of use and also allows everyone to gain the benifits of bulk purchases.

This means that the school will provide books and resources directly to those students who join the scheme. Membership is voluntary.

The scheme has three financial components.

1. Texbook Allowance 2. General services component 3. Elective Fees

There continues to be a growing emphasis on technology usage for all within our school. Some Internet usage is included in our offer of services for all students.

TEXTBOOK ALLOWANCE

The school is automatically paid an allowance by the government for each student enrolled at the school. Allowances are as follows:

Year 8, 9, 10 $95

Year 11 & 12 $209

If parents are not part of the scheme it can be arranged that the textbook allowance be paid directly to them and all texbooks purchased independently.

FEATURES OF THE SCHEME

  1. Unless otherwise designated, the school will supply all members with textbooks, class photocopying , basic learning materials, computers, audio visual and sporting equipment.
  2. Books, equipment, materials etc supplied to students under the scheme must be replaced or paid for if lost or damaged.
  3. All books and other items issued to students remain the property of the school and must be returned upon request or when the student leaves.
  4. Students must supply stationery, writing materials, drawing sets, aprons, safety glasses and correct footwear.
  5. Students studying Home Economics or Hospitality are to provide consumable items for certain aspects of their course (eg. cooking and sewing )
  6. The costs of special trips and excursions etc are not covered by this scheme and willl still require separate payments. These are invoiced and accounts sent to parents
  7. Receipts will be issued for all payments.
  8. All monies received under this scheme will be banked in the school's internal account and will be subject to an annual audit.
  9. If a student starts at the school after first term, the fee is reduced on a pro-rata basis.
  10. If a student leaves the school having paid the charge, a pro-rata refund will be made. The refund is based on the full charge in government allowance and parent/carer charge, less the cost of consumed materials and / or the cost of raplacement of lost of damaged textbooks.
