STUDENT WELFARE SERVICES

The school's Student Welfare program provides support for a wide variety of students. The program involves:

  • Mentors
  • Learning Support
  • Special needs in class assistance
  • Teacher Aide assistance
  • Guidance counselling
  • BM support
  • Case Management
  • Year level co-ordinators operate in all year levels
  • There is a Special Education Unit on site for high school aged students.
  • A learning support program is in operation.
  • A student leadership framework based on School Captains, Vice Captains,House Captains and Senior Leaders exists within the school
  • The Student Council represents all year levels. It organises fundraising activities for special projects and charities and other events.

The Supportive School Ecvironment policy exists from the local application of the Responsible Behaviour Plan, the Student Protection Policy and the Code of Conduct with school based practices in place. Reporting protocols are co-ordinated with staff. Staff and students support can be accessed by self referral, appointments or referrals from the Principal, HODS or year level co-ordinatiors .

Student Welfare Services is a co-ordinated approach to supporting students with a range of issues, eg personel, health, learning, behavioural, relationships, sexuality and spiritual. The support provided is co-ordinated by the Principal or an appointed Case Manager.
