Moura State High School opened in its present location in 1976 with Mr Brian Jentz as Principal. Prior to this the High School was part of the Primary School and was known as a Hi-Top. Moura High School caters for students from Year 8 - 12.
A special needs unit is also attached to the High School with its main base being at the Moura Primary School. Moura High has 3 feeder schools:- Banana State School, Bauhinia State School, and Theodore State School. Theodore School is a P - 10 school so senior students have the opportunity to stay in their home town but have access to higher education in Moura .
Moura High has a Principal and 2 Heads of Departments (HODS) - Head of Senior Phase of Learning and Head of Middle Phase of Learning.
Although small, Moura High offers a large range of subjects with access to Virtual Schooling Services and the Brisbane School of Distance Education.
